LIGHT BROWN CABIN

DDS Logo.png

When oiling a cabin, there is a process that needs to be done. Depending on the age of your cabin, it may require a washdown treatment before we start this process.

  OUTSIDE

Before we make any of these steps, we prime the cabin with universal primer,

Any guttering will be removed from the cabin along with struts and apex faciers.  if there is a flat roof, then all trims will be taped up. This is so we can have maximum coverage of the cabin. struts and faciers will be treated while off the cabin. some cabins have sap because of the wood; this will be wiped away before any product is applied. Each cabin will be sanded to remove any imperfections on the wood and make it as smooth and clean as possible. the cabin must be fully dry before we apply the required product. Once dry, we can apply the first layer. Each layer has to dry fully before we apply another, if required. Drying times depend on the weather. as we can only apply the treatment on dry days.

If you are wanting your windows painted instead of oiled ,windows and doors may be removed to have the treatment. they will be put back on once dry. this is to make sure there is none of your chosen color on the body of the cabin. this will create a seamless look once re-applied. the cabin will be topped with a coat of U.V. to protect the treatment and wood from discoloration and mold.

INSIDE

This treatment will be repeated on the inside of the cabin too, if you are wanting the same inside and out. if you are having the inside painted, windows and doors of the inside will be masked up or removed from the cabin. if you want the inside of the windows to match inside, they will be taped up to get that seamless finish. if you want them to match the outside of the cabin, the same treatment will be applied to match to body. all flooring will be masked up and covered to protect it from marks and drips while painting.

After everything is dry all Apexes, faciers, bolts and guttering will be re-mounted on the cabin. at the end you will have a smooth and seamless cabin ready for your use.
